Language Problems

Then another major problem which I experienced (even until now) the English language. It's a great obstacle as at times I find it really hard to converse fluently in English; even though my secondary educa­tion was conducted in English, there was little need for me to speak English - I studied in English but yet I conversed in our own exotic mother tongue (ironic, isn't it).

That's why Asian student are rather quiet during tutorials and lectures as they are afraid that with command of spoken English it will be embarrassing.

 The language problem is very real. Yet, as you may have noticed when you were reading those comments by Asian much more of a problem at the start of your course. It usually ­becomes less serious after a few months of living and working in surroundings where English is spoken all the time and where all reading and writing are also in English. Gradually you become ‘acclimatized' to English.
