Cultural influences On Styles Of Writing And Presenting Ideas

MORE TO THINK ABOUT

  1. For two of the subjects which you are presently studying, make a list of the things you have been required to do in the past week in each subject. Include activities which have taken place both inside the classroom and in your own study time. (If you are studying Chemistry, for example, your list might include such things as: writing up a description of an experiment, summarizing a section of your textbook, taking notes from the board or your teacher's dictation, memorizing atomic weights, calculating chemical equations, learning formulae for a test, lab work, and so on. Try to make your list as complete as possible.)

When you have finished this task, turn to Figure 1, Learning Styles, on p. 12. Next to each item on your list write:

  1. The type of learning strategy, and
  2. The learning approach

Which best describes that item.
