Assessment system

In some courses the students' performance is assessed whollv final formal exam; in others assessment is continuous, with piece of written work and each short test counting towards the final grade; in many courses there is a mixture of continuous assessment and some form of final exam.

Exams can take a wide range of forms. Multiple-choice example : which students tick or circle their chosen answers, are not in Australian universities. A combination of short-answer question and some longer essay-type questions is more usual. Some , are very formal and students cannot take any books or note into, the exam hall. Open-book exams, on the other hand, perr­dents to bring their textbooks, lecture notes or other maten. : the exam room for use as references. Another common : from of exam is the take-home exam, in which students are given the exam paper to take home for two or three days and write out their
